Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Having a right royal time at Relay 

Royal wedding guests, fairy tale characters, vampires, witches and super heroes ... they all turned out for Relay for Life 2011 at CQUniversity Rockhampton over the weekend.

This year featured around 130 teams, more than 120 cancer survivors and an encouraging interim tally of more $150,000 raised for Cancer Council Queensland, with more donations expected in coming weeks.

There was more visible University presence thanks to a grouping of team tents with appropriate bunting and signage.
