Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Tess Sanders-Lazarus, the Founder and Managing Director of the Brand Management Agency, Invigorate, addressed 94 graduates representing 22 nationalities during the event at the The Sebel and Citigate Presidential Ballroom in King George Square.

Chancellor Rennie Fritschy and Vice-Chancellor and President Professor John Rickard officiated.

The graduate delivering the Closing Address on Behalf of the Graduates was Niral Joshi, who has become the youngest student to complete a Masters degree with CQUniversity.
