Only a decade after studying in Sydney, Roshan Thapa has showcased his entrepreneurial skills by starting a hospitality empire back in his home country of Nepal...
Despite the country's political turmoil, the CQUniversity MBA graduate has launched a successful hotel and casino operation in Biratnagar, with plans for 100 rooms, a shopping mall and movie miniplex (details via http://www.hotelratna.com/ ).

The hotel venture provided the launchpad for a successful hotel school, the South Asian School of Tourism and Hotel Management (SASTHM), which already has 300 students and affiliation with Purbanchal University of Nepal (details via http://www.sasthm.edu.np/ )
Roshan and his team are currently working on plans to develop a Hile Mountain Resort, a couple of kilometres above sea level in the eastern hills of Nepal.

They are also developing tourism by incorporating concepts of sustainable development to enrich the livelihood of the indigenous community within the region.
Roshan credits CQUniversity for providing the education and learning experiences to enable him to achieve his success to date.
