Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Music students invited to workshops 

Both school-based and private music students are welcome to attend music education workshops presented by visiting American performer and teacher Leslie Fox...

Leslie Fox is a classically trained pianist who has a Masters degree in performance and teaching. She has held senior roles in specialist schools and universities in the USA and is currently keyboard editor of Kjos Publishing in San Diego.

CQUniversity has joined the RADF funding program of Arts Queensland, Rockhampton Regional Council and the Major Player Music School in supporting Leslie's workshops and an associated concert, from Friday to Sunday (March 6-8).

Leslie and students will perform during the concert in an open masterclass style, from 6pm-7.30pm on the Friday evening (March 6) at St Paul's Cathedral. The workshops will be held at the Major Player rooms beside Green Brothers Music in William Street.
