Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

VC's last farewell to international students 

Vice-Chancellor Professor John Rickard performed one of his last official duties at CQUniversity's Going Home Ceremony last week.

He has spoken at numerous graduations and completion ceremonies around Australia and abroad over the past 5 years, but last week he congratulated 37 international students at the University's headquarters in Rockhampton.

He joined with other staff and students who celebrated the achievements of the international students, who will return home in coming weeks.

Students have been in Australia for full degree programs, exchange and Study Abroad programs and through AustraLearn visits, and have come from 11 different countries: USA, Colombia, Mexico, Canada, India, China, Nepal, Japan, Thailand, Cameroon and Iran.
