Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

The ceremony catering for 146 students from 19 nations was held at the Sebel and Citigate Grand Waldorf Ballroom in Queens Road, Albert Park and officiated by Chancellor Rennie Fritschy and Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Scott Bowman.

Director's Award Winner Mordekhay Zaga (Business Management) delivered the Response by the Graduates' Representative. Other Director's Awards were earned by Ronak Nirijan Shah (Information Systems), Poonamdeep Kaur (IT) and Raid Abdulaziz Hadef Al Shamsi (IT).
