Final-year Bachelor of Learning Management (Early Childhood) students are hosting an exhibition under the theme 'Threading 50 Years of Childhood', in conjunction with Under 8s Week.
The exhibition will be staged at the Ron Smyth Building at 240 Quay Street.

CQU Early Childhood students are helping to stage the annual Romp in the Park event, as the culmination of Under 8s Week in Rockhampton.
With the theme of 'Celebrating 50 Years', the event will be held from 9am to 1pm on Friday, May 26, at Rockhamton Botanic Gardens.

More than half of men, more than half of people aged over 35 and almost half of women - that's the prevalence of overweight or obese Queenslanders according to a study released to coincide with the Queensland Obesity Summit in Brisbane this week (Wednesday and Thursday).
The study comes from Central Queensland University's Centre for Social Science Research (CSSR) and is based on data from the 2005 Queensland Social Survey carried out by CQU's Population Research Laboratory.

As part of Domestic and Family Violence Prevention month, the Queensland Centre for Domestic and Family Violence Research Centre at CQU Mackay held an Indigenous Family Violence Prevention Forum addressing current topics in the area.
The forum was held at the Windmill Motel and Reception Centre on the Bruce Highway, North Mackay on May 2-3.

A record contingent of researchers from the Cooperative Research Centre for Rail (Rail CRC) will converge on Melbourne next week and pack the program for the nation’s major annual Conference on Railway Engineering (CORE).
Rail CRC is headquartered at CQU Rockhampton.

A report of the findings from the Board of Teacher Registration’s (now known as Queensland College of Teachers) Professional Education Committee working party reflects the ethos, structure and content of the BLM numeracy courses.
