Gladstone accountant Chris Dicker not only caught the travel bug during his 10-month study trip to Japan but also may have taken his career on a new tangent.
Chris has just returned home from Urayasu City, Chiba, in Japan where he took courses in the Japanese language and assisted teachers with English classes at the Meikai University.

Emeritus Professor Elizabeth Taylor AO and long-serving academic Dave Cardnell have jointly donated a painting as a way of saying 'thank you' to the CQUniversity community and also as a way of being remembered.
The artwork Garrison was painted by Dave's brother Keith Cardnell, a professional artist working and living in Kent, England.

Skye Jeffrey grew up as a white girl playing in the schoolyard with many Aboriginal friends, as her home town of Wondai has a large Indigenous population and is beside the Cherbourg community.
When the Aboriginal elders came to the school to teach kids about cooking possums and emus, or traditional painting, boomerangs and culture, Skye was keen to join in and learn.

Nowadays, thanks to encouragement from his wife and success in a CQUniversity bridging program, he's "going forward in leaps and bounds".
