Rockhampton region residents are encouraged to help with research examining how people's mode of travel to work affects their risk of cardiovascular disease.

A new book by CQUniversity's Professor Denis Cryle uses meticulous research and interviews to show Rupert Murdoch's behind-the-scenes influence on the editorial policy of The Australian newspaper.
That is according to former ABC Regional Manager and now Adjunct Professor Ross Quinn, who spoke at a Rockhampton launch* of Murdoch's Flagship: Twenty-five Years of The Australian Newspaper during March.

Deanna Robbie and Brodie Reck have been announced the winners of the 2009 Gladstone Regional Council Scholarships.
These scholarships provide the winners with a $16,000 payment per year towards tuition and educational expenses for the remaining 3 years of their program.

Despite poor weather conditions, the CQUniversity Melbourne sports day held at Fawkner Park in South Yarra recently (March 15) was a success, as students enjoyed a game of cricket, a barbecue lunch and a spot of Australian Football.
Teams were made up of new and continuing students in a 25-over match, with the retirement mark set at 40.
