Glenmore State High School student Archie Gee has been named Siemens Young Scientist of the Year after winning the Great Australian Science Relay Quiz.
Archie won the quiz while attending the CQU Siemens Science Experience in Rockhampton recently.

A health strategy has been developed for the rural areas surrounding Wowan and Dululu in Central Queensland with funding being made available by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing.

Central Queensland University’s mentors have helped hundreds of distance education students overcome the isolation of studying off-campus.
“Since the Distance Education Mentor program’s inception four years ago it has provided encouragement to new distance learners and has helped them overcome the isolation associated with studying via distance,” DE Mentor coordinator Mark Kennedy said.

CQU’s Dr Jill Windle said the cooperation of local growers was vital to the success of her work and she is keen to hear what the cane farmers have to say on the future of the industry which determines their livelihood.

Hundreds of first year students are finding their way around the Central Queensland University Bundaberg campus as they kick off their studies with Orientation Week activities between February 24 and February 27, 2003.
Orientation Week Coordinator Michele Palu said the week was crucial for students and was a mixture of fun and more serious activities to get students ready for their University life.
