- University celebrates 'papal' appointment

CQUniversity has recently appointed Luke Roberts - ‘Queensland's most eccentric contemporary artist' (The Australian, December 11, 2009) - as its artist in residence.
This unconventional visual and performance artist, and creator of Her Divine Holiness Pope Alice and Alice Jitterbug, was centre-stage at a meet and greet event this week.

CQUniversity's Bachelor of Performing Arts degree will proudly present its final production and celebrate its 10th anniversary with a BPA Unleashed production.
BPA Unleashed will be presented from 7pm on Saturday, October 2, in the Bencke Drama Studio (Building 4) of Rockhampton Campus.

CQUniversity researcher Morwenna Kirwan has hopped, skipped and jumped nimbly between the TAFE and Uni sectors and finds the experience has enhanced her career prospects.
Fresh out of school, Morwenna worked in the banking sector and then studied at both TAFE (fitness) and university (business with an information systems major) at the same time.

Forty-six occupational health and safety students and industry professionals from throughout Central Queensland gathered in Rockhampton recently (Aug 13) to consider ways to avoid repeat accidents.
Guest presenter Dr Geoff Dell spoke about how misinformation, lack of hard data and risk decision errors have contributed to accidents being repeated across industries.

Graduate/Alumni functions held at Brisbane and the Gold Coast this month were a chance for former students to mingle and, in some cases, renew acquaintances.
Former Gladstone schoolmates and Bachelor of Engineering Co-op (2002) buddies, Jason Freyling and Kane Ivers enjoyed catching up during the Brisbane function on August 10, as it had been some time since they last met.
