Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Adult learning peak body visits, calls for 'reassessment'

The president of Australia's peak adult learning body, Professor Barry Golding has visited Rockhampton for a forum calling for a reassessment of adult education in Australia.

CQUniversity hosted the forum at its Ron Smyth Building in Quay Street.

    The CQU Roam Wireless Network has now been rolled out across the Australian international campuses in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Melbourne and Sydney.

    This enables staff and students to access network resources throughout the campus, wherever it happens to be convenient to work or check messages.

    The Market Day will be held on July 8 at CQU Rockhampton, to give students the opportunity to locate sporting, cultural, social and recreational clubs as well as community clubs of interest to them within the local community.

    CQU's Bachelor of Learning Management students will host Romp in the Park 2008 to celebrate Under Eights Week on Friday May 30 at the Rockhampton Botanic Gardens from 9am to 1pm.

    Romp in the Park is one of the most popular events on Rockhampton's calendar and offers a variety of fun, educational activities, live entertainment and a large range of information services focusing on young children and families.
