Central Queensland University business student Aimee Donaldson knows first hand what its like to study externally which is why she has volunteered to be a distance education mentor.
The Student Mentor Program assists new students to quickly feel at home at CQU and provides support during their first year of tertiary studies.

CQU Language Centre is offering language classes, including beginner classes in Japanese, Chinese (Mandarin) and Spanish.
A sign-up evening will be held on Tuesday, February 27, from 6pm-7pm at the Language Centre on Rockhampton Campus.

Child protection training will enter a new era in 2007, when university students throughout the state begin studying Queensland's new, specialised child protection courses.
Revised or new courses will be offered this year in Townsville, Rockhampton, St Lucia, Logan and Brisbane and from next year at Maroochydore and Hervey Bay.

Three of this year’s Queensland Government teaching scholarship winners will begin studies in Central Queensland University’s Bachelor of Learning Management (BLM) program next month.
Education and Training Minister, Rod Welford last week presented 7 Bid O’Sullivan Teaching Scholarships and 12 Pearl Duncan Teaching Scholarships, valued up to $20,000 each, at a ceremony at Parliament House in Brisbane.

Central Queensland (CQU) Mackay has Gone Troppo for its annual Orientation week as it gears up to welcome 300 on-campus and 40 distance education students to tertiary study.
This Saturday and Sunday, CQU Mackay will hold a special orientation weekend for part-time and distance education students.
