Nineteen budding year 10 scientists from the Mackay region gathered at Central Queensland University (CQU) Mackay this week to learn more about their favourite subject.
The Siemens Science Experience is designed to show kids the fun and practical side of science as well as provide a social activity for the kids on their school holidays.

Former Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music (CQCM) student and talented bass and lead guitarist, Nathaniel Andrews is about to head to the US to audition for the Conservatorium of Music at the University of Cincinnati, where he is hoping to study a Masters program in Jazz.
Breezing through his Bachelor of Jazz program at the CQCM, Nathaniel was mentored and encouraged by his lecturers to apply to study in the US; the country where the music style of jazz was born.

CQU Mackay staff have had a busy start to the year, receiving 100 enquiries from potential students at a shopping centre promotion held at Caneland Central, in Mackay last week.
Community Relations Officer, Claire Christensen attributes the success of the promotion to the timing coinciding with the release of QTAC first round of offers.
