Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music lecturers Mark Gasser and Kim Kirkman have put together a big free concert at the Mackay Entertainment Centre, this Sunday from 4.30pm.

Vice-Chancellor Professor John Rickard presented the 2007 Vice-Chancellor's Awards for Excellence to General Staff (EXCEL Awards) and the Vice-Chancellor's Customer Service Awards to General Staff at last week's Christmas Party.
Each EXCEL Award recipient received a grant of $2,500 to be used for further professional development along with a citation of excellence.

CQU Chancellor Rennie Fritschy and Vice-Chancellor Professor John Rickard last week presented CQU benefactor Ron Diamond with a B-HERT (Business/Higher Education Round Table) High Commendation for outstanding philanthropic contribution to higher education.
A celebratory luncheon was held at CQU to formally present Mr Diamond with the award.

More than 250 graduates proudly crossed the stage to receive their degrees from the Chancellor at the John Batman Theatre, Melbourne Convention Centre on Wednesday December 12.
This semester's diverse graduates represented 20 countries including Chile, Russia, Tanzania and Zambia as well as Nigeria and Cambodia.
