Reza Tarahhomi Niari travelled from his homeland of Iran and spent four years in Azerbaijan before arriving at CQUniversity's Gold Coast campus earlier this year to study Accounting.
Only a few months after arrival in Australia, he thought it would be fun to join the Gold Coast student team competing in the Chancellor's Cup sports at Rockhampton Campus this week.

South Korean student Songyi Han is enjoying her academic year at CQUniversity Rockhampton, and she's having plenty of fun off campus too!
Songyi is among many cast and crew of Rockhampton's first production of Hairspray who have connections with the University. In fact, one of the leads, Laura Hamlyn, is a Communications student.

This year, the University commenced its new degree in Tourism offered full-time at the Noosa Campus.

CQUniversity Rockhampton will be the hosting a panel discussion on whether or not sport science is meeting the needs of sport, next Thursday, 26 July from 3pm.
The panel will see leading local, national and international coaches and coach educators converge on Rockhampton campus, and includes Triathlon Australia's National Manager for Coach Development Wayne Goldsmith, Latvian Academy of Sport Education's Coach Educator Elena Solovjova, Head of Rockhampton Grammar's Rowing team John Smyth and Rockhampton Cyclones Basketball Coach Heath Miller.

CQUniversity has hosted around 100 competitors across 33 teams entered in the 10th Annual Central Queensland Junior Robotics Competition at the CQ Community Sports Centre.
Organiser Jason Bell says the competition is a great way for school students, from throughout the region, to get involved in science and technology.

CQUniversity has loaned the University of Queensland some of its prized artworks by Rockhampton-born artist Fiona MacDonald. Now the artist herself is going to UQ to be part of a panel discussion entitled Should I stay or should I go?
The discussion is linked with an exhibition entitled Return to Sender including works by artists who left Queensland in the late 1970s and early 1980s, largely in reaction to the political and cultural milieu of the Joh Bjelke-Petersen era.
