Around 100 writers from throughout Queensland flocked to CQUniversity Bundaberg recently for the popular WriteFest event, which also attracted editors from publishing company HarperCollins.
Organised by Bundaberg author Sandy Curtis, the event provided workshops and masterclasses and helped writers reach out to editors and publishers.

The Mackay Campus-based Queensland Centre for Domestic and Family Violence Research has received a Queensland Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Award from Communities Minister Karen Struthers.
The award (one of only 6 presented) was for CDFVR's nationally accredited Course in Responding to Domestic and Family Violence*.
