New Zealand-based researcher and activist Dr Ang Jury will present a research seminar for the Queensland Centre for Domestic and Family Violence Research, at CQUniversity Mackay on Tuesday September 28.
Dr Jury is the Manager of Palmerston North Women's Refuge and later this year will take up a position on the governing body, National Collective of Independent Women's Refuges Aotearoa New Zealand.

Suncoast Christian College student Tiara Togatia capped off a great birthday recently when she won CQUniversity's Open Day iPad competition.
Tiara attended our Noosa Open Day as she was not previously aware there is a university facility in Noosa.

PhD graduate Sandra Arnold spent the days before her recent graduation ceremony cleaning up her house after the Christchurch earthquake but she had already come to terms with her own more personal tragedy.
Sandra's daughter was diagnosed with cancer at age 22 and died at age 23, so it was a tender experience to tackle a thesis entitled 'Sing no sad songs: Grieving the death of a young adult child from cancer'.

Moranbah High Year 10 student Angus May has a headstart towards his goal of becoming a mechanical engineer, thanks to CQUniversity's SUN (Start Uni Now) program.
The keen teen has already completed a university-level engineering drafting course at HD level and intends to enrol in another engineering program next year, while continuing his school subjects, including the 'favourites': maths, graphics and geography.
