Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Peter Sawyer's pearls of wisdom for Bundaberg graduation 

Wide Bay company director, business leader and prominent citizen Peter Sawyer will impart pearls of wisdom from his career, when 115 graduates are recognised during CQUniversity's graduation ceremony from 5pm on Thursday April 29 at Bundaberg's Moncrieff Theatre.

Mr Sawyer is guest speaker for the event and the honorary award of Companion of the University will be conferred upon him. LINK HERE for Peter Sawyer biographical details

The graduation will also feature a special award for Bundaberg Graduation Medalist Nicole Blake (Bachelor of Human Movement Science with Distinction). Nicole will also provide the graduates' response address.

Musical highlights will come from the Bundaberg Youth Choir Vocal Ensemble and Shalom College Vocal Ensemble, conducted by Robyn Edgar and accompanied by Lowis Keppel. Mrs Edgar will also display her vocal talents.
