Graduation a red-letter day for Judith Brown

Long-serving Music Theatre academic and pianist Judith Brown will receive the Vice-Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence* during the CQUniversity Mackay graduation, due to be held from 5pm at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre this Thursday (April 22).

The ceremony will feature Judith's talents for the processional and recessional music and there will also be performances by operatic 'boy band' Formidable and Music Theatre students.
Participants will hear from guest speaker, sugar industry research stalwart Dr Vic Mason and the graduate response will be delivered by high-achieving student Andrew Brockhurst, who will graduate with a Bachelor of Technology (Application Development) with Distinction. Andrew is also a Campus Medallist and has served as a mentor during his degree.
The other Campus Medallist is Hayden Bratt, who is also graduating with a Bachelor of Technology (Application Development) with Distinction.
Chancellor Rennie Fritschy and Vice-Chancellor Professor Scott Bowman will be the key University officials present.
Mackay brother and sister - James and Samantha Petrass - will graduate together. James has completed a Science degree and Samantha will graduate from Nursing.
