Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Experienced editor, documentary film producer and award-winning journalist Nicholas Chesla provided the guest address for CQUniversity's Melbourne graduation last week at the Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Mr Chesla inspired 161 graduates from a range of country backgrounds throughout Asia and the United Kingdom.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Scott Bowman and Chancellor Rennie Fritschy officiated the event, while Master of Business Administration (Financial Management) graduate Prasad Kushiel delivered the closing address on behalf of graduates.

VIP guests also included the Acting Consul-General for Japan.
