Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Adult learning peak body visits, calls for 'reassessment'

The president of Australia's peak adult learning body, Professor Barry Golding has visited Rockhampton for a forum calling for a reassessment of adult education in Australia.

    Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music (CQCM) Bachelor of Music Theatre student Paul Tabone is ending the year on a high note.

    The talented 19-year-old from Ingham has been selected (via a radio competition) to join the likes of musical theatre leading lady Marina Prior, former Australia Idol Guy Sebastian and jazz legend James Morrison, all performing at this year's Carols in the City in Brisbane.

    Central Queensland University welcomed Japanese Associate Professor Kanaho Matsuda to the Rockhampton campus this week to share CQU's experience and knowledge in online learning and cooperative education.

    Professor Matsuda, a key academic from the Tomakomai National College of Technology in Tomakomai, is developing a telecommunications system between her college and an institute in New Zealand.
