Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Adult learning peak body visits, calls for 'reassessment'

The president of Australia's peak adult learning body, Professor Barry Golding has visited Rockhampton for a forum calling for a reassessment of adult education in Australia.

CQUniversity hosted the forum at its Ron Smyth Building in Quay Street.

    CQU Bundaberg was the recent assembly point for Zonta Birthing Kits which will help save lives and reduce suffering during births.

    The Zonta Birthing Kits started as a trial in 1999 with 100 kits being sent to Papua New Guinea.

    The Pacific Edge is Australia’s largest regional arts event, presented by Regional Arts Australia, Queensland Arts Council and Mackay City Council.

  • CQU examples on AUQA Good Practice Database

    CQU has been invited by AUQA (the Australian Universities Quality Agency) to submit a number of good practices in quality assurance to the Good Practice Database from among the commendations listed in the Audit Report.

    The AUQA Good Practice Database was developed as a benchmarking resource for higher education organisations seeking information on good practices to adapt and adopt.
