Congratulations to former CQUniversity researcher Professor Daniela Stehlik who has been appointed as Chair of the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation (RIRDC).

Professor Stehlik is one of Australia's leading social scientists in the areas of sustainability, human service practice and social cohesion with a focus on families and communities in regional/rural Australia.

CQUniversity's International Program of Psycho-Social Health Research* (IPP-SHR) has launched an extension to its podcast series, aimed at giving researchers, students and the wider community a valuable look 'behind the scenes' of psycho-social health research.

IPP-SHR has published over 100 podcasts of interviews with researchers about psycho-social issues from birth to bereavement, across all diagnostic groups.

CQUniversity Mackay-based lecturer and midwife Anne Eaton has been 'in demand' this year, contributing to three nationally-recognised education groups. 

Ms Eaton, a registered nurse/midwife, has been involved with lecturing for CRANA Plus, the peak professional body for health practitioners working in remote and isolated areas.

Twenty-seven talkative Thai teens and their guide have been enjoying a visit to Rockhampton region, where they have been based at CQUniversity's English Language Centre from April 22-May 10.

Thanks to their Universal Cultural Exchange program, they have been balancing campus-based language classes and creative activities with opportunities to visit school rooms and mingle with students at Glenmore High and Yeppoon High.

Canterbury, LLB London, PhD Glasgow, FCPA, FAIA(Acc), FIMgt, FRSA, JP(Qual) is a Professor of Accounting at the University of Western Sydney.

His current research involves the processes of professional judgment.

CQUniversity's Office of Development and Graduate Relations (ODGR) recently hosted a visitor from The Fred Hollows Foundation: Sue Larsen, State Fundraising Manager for Queensland.

The Fred Hollows Foundation is one of the organisations which staff have chosen to support through the University's new Workplace Giving program, which was launched this year.

Rockhampton-based Adz Power Agencies plans to add value to its potential recruits with a new $2000 scholarship.

The scholarship is available to a CQUniversity student who displays a keen interest in developing a career in web design and who is currently enrolled in their second year or in the start of their third year of a Bachelor of Multimedia degree.
