Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Adult learning peak body visits, calls for 'reassessment'

The president of Australia's peak adult learning body, Professor Barry Golding has visited Rockhampton for a forum calling for a reassessment of adult education in Australia.

CQUniversity hosted the forum at its Ron Smyth Building in Quay Street.

  • CQU hosts national business operations symposium

    Central Queensland University will host the third ANZAM Operations Management Symposium at the Rydges Capricorn Resort in Yeppoon, near Rockhampton, from June 13 to 14.

    ANZAM (Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management) is the peak professional body for management educators, researchers and practitioners, with about 300 individual members and 50 institutional members (representing most Australian and New Zealand universities) as well as members from other countries.

    Students from Emerald High, Blackwater High and Marist College have spent one afternoon a week for five weeks undertaking a Uni-link program at CQU Emerald.

    Uni-link gives students a general introduction to university life, including library tips, research guidance, essay writing and enrolment processes.
