Students and staff recently came together to celebrate making it through another term, at the End of Term 1 Party.
Students helped create a wonderful party atmosphere in the campus student recreation room, contributing ideas and organising a great selection of music to bring the space alive.

While many graduating engineers were celebrating coming to the end of their studies last week at CQUniversity's Graduating Engineers Conference (GEConTM 2011), some were having a double celebration as they confirmed getting their first job as a qualified engineer.
Among the students who already have secured employment was civil engineering graduate Pieter Els.

CQUniversity Professional Doctorate graduate Felix Lo is now a senior associate in a city law firm but speaks most passionately about support for people with mental illness.
He reckons that people with the 'dual disorder' of mental illness and substance abuse are "dying in silence" and says this is a serious nationwide social health problem that needs to be addressed by policy makers and health authorities.

America-based CQUniversity graduate Don Winiecki is taking a novel approach to make his social science research accessible to a wider range of audiences.
"I'm working toward communicating my research through visual art - primarily painting and drawing - with the aim of producing work which is accessible to audiences different from those who would usually read the type of journal article or book which I have produced in the past," he says.

CQUniversity student Bridget Mallory says her recent exchange to Eastern Illinois University was the best six months of her life to date, and she also gets credit towards her home degree.
The Rockhampton-based second year student says the trip highlights included making wonderful friends and being able to experience some stereotypical American college culture by joining a sorority.

Primary school pupils recently attended a science show offering ‘one of the biggest blobs of slime ever made', when CQUniversity Mackay Campus hosted BMA ScienceSpark Days (June 15 and 16).
The ScienceSpark Days included a slime-filled science show, fun science experiments and activities and an interactive tour of the new Medical and Applied Science Laboratories.
