New survey results show investors considering foreign-led ownership of Coles Myer should not worry about customer emotions based on the Aussie produce factor.
The results show that people believe Coles is just being strategic when it makes 'socially responsible' promises about sourcing more than 96% of fresh produce in Australia.

Bulgarian visitor Dr Mihail Mukarev (pictured here with Professor David Midmore, PhD candidate Phul Subedi and Associate Professor Kerry Walsh of the Plant Sciences Group) has just completed a 6-week stay at CQU as a Visiting Scholar.
Dr Mukarev worked with the Non-invasive Assessment team of PSG, using spectral data sets of intact fruit to try a non-linear modelling approach (Support Vector Machines) and a wavelength-variable reduction technique (genetic algorithms - mutual information).

Australia's OHS profession is now even more aware of CQU's importance as a partner in future developments, thanks to the University's extensive involvement in a Safety Institute of Australia conference (Aug 31-Sept 1) in Yeppoon.
CQU senior lecturer in OHS Yvonne Toft said many successes and potential opportunities arose from the University's involvement with the SIA\'s Visions Conference, held in Central Queensland for the first time.

Grade 6 students from Frenchville State School in Rockhampton delved into the world of finance as part of a business project organised by Central Queensland University.
Tamika Hansen and Rebekah Baartz both won an MP3 player as the team to make the most 'virtual money' at the end of the project.

Central Queensland University were key sponsors of the Central Queensland Law Association Annual Conference held at Yeppoon’s Rydges Capricorn Resort recently.
The conference attracted a large number of law professionals from the CQ region, as well as the wider national community.

Second-time mentor Juanita Joy says that her own experience as a new student motivated her to go on and become a student mentor.

CQU Mackay Library Society members were happy to see hundreds of second-hand books find new homes at their Annual Book Sale at the weekend.
Library Society members worked tirelessly on Sunday and Monday in the refectory to help the people of Mackay shuffle through thousands of books that were so kindly donated by the CQU Mackay Library and the general public.
