- Emerald to celebrate academic and artistic stars

CQUniversity Emerald is looking forward to celebrating academic stars alongside artistic stars in 2009, with plans to combine its Academic Awards presentation evening with the culmination of a major dance workshop.
Campus coordinator Gai Sypher said she had confirmed RCotA (Regional Centre of the Arts) funding from the University to support the project in July next year.

The recent Rockhampton Pilbeam Theatre production of Sweet Charity by our performing arts students was a sparkling production, including stunning dance numbers, stirring songs and charismatic lead roles.

CQUniversity is encouraging school and private music students from Rockhampton and surrounding regions to participate in a series of workshops hosted by Australian composer Kerin Bailey.
Mr Bailey is renowned for his compositions in the ‘Jazz Incorporated' series for Woodwind and Brass and ‘Jazzin Around' for Piano and Strings.
