Mining executive Tony Caruso was guest speaker for CQUniversity Mackay's recent graduation ceremony. A total of 94 students celebrated their graduation and Nursing student Melissa Harris delivered an address on behalf of graduates.

CQUniversity plans to show the way for national providers of allied health programs by opening up its popular new suite of degrees for mid-year entry.
Students from across Australia will be able to enrol mid-year for part-time study in the Medical Sonography, Medical Imaging and Paramedic Science degrees as well as Medical Science (majors in Medical Laboratory Science, Nutrition, Clinical Investigations) and Exercise and Sports Science.

CQUniversity is again showing leadership in support for international students; this time by providing them with a special TV channel on YouTube so they can watch a series of pre-departure videos with their family members.
The special channel walks students through the steps they will need to take before leaving their home country, during the early weeks in Australia, for study in Australia and for living in Australia.

As a girl, Stephanie Schoeppe cycled up hill and down dale on her way to school and to visit friends in the small town of Bad Lauterberg, nestled in a mountainous area of north-west Germany.
Now working in Rockhampton, Queensland, she is about to begin a study looking at the activity and travel behaviours of Rockhampton children and the impacts this has on their health.

An exciting new project to boost creative arts in the Gladstone region commences soon with the official launch of ‘Sea Dreams' by Mayor Gail Sellers on Saturday April 16.

Professor Trevor Gale, Director of the National Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education and former CQUniversity academic recently returned to Rockhampton to participate in the Social Inclusion Speaker Series and to work with Student Support Centre staff and student mentors.
In his series presentation to staff, Trevor argued that at a time when higher education in Australia was expected to be more inclusive of people from under-represented backgrounds, institutions needed to do more than merely welcome diverse cohorts.
