- Dam, factory and wind power farm all part of Angela's China experience

While her peers are recovering from exams back in Australia this month, Civil Engineering student Angela Webb will be visiting China's famous Three Gorges Dam near Yichang, inspecting a wind power farm near Beijing and touring a car factory near Shanghai.
She's also looking forward to a bit of good-old shopping therapy in Hong Kong, as well as visiting the Forbidden City, Tian'anmen Square, the Great Wall and the Jade Buddha Temple on the mainland.

Sunshine Coast music lovers were recently treated to some amazing sounds of retro rock with local cover band Natural Street Freaks, thanks to a musical fusion between CQUniversity and Sunshine Coast TAFE.
CQUniversity Noosa music lecturer Robert Brock said the band's recent gigs at Villa Noosa Resort, Buderim Tavern and King's Beach Tavern were the first in a series to be played by University music students.

CQUniversity Noosa Nursing academic Dr Melanie Birks recently visited Trinitas School of Nursing in the city of Elizabeth, in Union County, New Jersey.
She was travelling with Dr Jane Mills from James Cook University as both are interested in creating simulation-based learning programs.

CQUniversity will help study student use of iPod Touch devices within selected nursing and education courses, thanks to $113,000 to be shared with the University of Southern Queensland, one of its collaborators in the 'DE Hub' consortium of distance education universities.
The successful grant is for a study into: Distance learning at times and places chosen by the learner: Adapting resources and learner behaviours for working with mobile digital devices.

Dr Reaburn is an active researcher, book publisher and practising high-performance athlete.

A former Rockhampton student now based in America will return to his former stomping ground to report on his current intervention study - Journey to a Healthy Child Care Home.
Dr Stewart Trost completed high school in Rockhampton and is now an Associate Professor at the Oregon State University's Department of Nutrition and Exercise Sciences.

Five years ago young Rachel Kerr was in the prime of her life and about to finish high school when her world was turned upside down.
At the young age of 17 Rachel began to lose her vision and went blind within a couple of weeks, and after testing at her local hospital and in Brisbane she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis; a rare neurological condition which affects the brain and spinal cord.
