Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Adult learning peak body visits, calls for 'reassessment'

The president of Australia's peak adult learning body, Professor Barry Golding has visited Rockhampton for a forum calling for a reassessment of adult education in Australia.

CQUniversity hosted the forum at its Ron Smyth Building in Quay Street.

    Now she's at CQUniversity Rockhampton, researching methods to ensure a promising and newly-approved natural sweetener called stevia can be as sweet as possible when it reaches the market.

  • Plant project stems from graduate link

    CQUniversity graduate and Heights College teacher Sam Fesuk is helping students of the school get hands-on experience of how plants can help remediate contaminated soil.

    Mr Fesuk, who has both science and teaching qualifications from the University, has arranged for his students to visit Plant and Water Sciences at Rockhampton Campus.

  • Over 100 converge for Gladstone engineering event

    More than 100 industry representatives from around Australia converged on CQUniversity Gladstone's Rex Metcalfe Theatre to attend the Gladstone Engineering Alliance (GEA) industry conference during October (8-9).

    The conference provided an opportunity for relationship building between the supply chain and local industry, as well as showcasing the capability of the Gladstone region.
