How to socialise on the web, without the headaches

Newly-arrived Mackay academic Professor Mark Looi is presenting during CQUniversity's Showcase entitled 'Research and Development for Your Community'. His talk on 'Security and privacy issues with social networking sites' should resonate with most people, as millions around the world join popular sites like Facebook and Twitter.

This FREE talk will be presented from 1.45pm on Friday, April 8, at Mackay Campus.
Professor Looi has a strong research profile, with key interests are in mobile and wireless security, network security and auditing and social network privacy.
He has also taken on the role as Dean of the School of Information and Communication Technology.
Professor Looi completed his PhD during the early 1990s when network security was a fresh frontier. He's since worked as Deputy Director for the Information Security Research Centre, and then as Head of the School of Information Technology at QUT before leaving to join CQUniversity. He's been a full professor since 2006.
The new arrival's key research It's not all nodes and networks as Professor Looi has also found time to indulge his passion for American football, including being referee for two test matches, three national championships and numerous state championships.
