The coveted award was awarded to nursing student Nicole Williams from Carmilla.

CQUniversity's student mentors from Mackay Campus have deposited time and effort into a life-saving initiative.
The Student Mentor Program has helped promote the Red Cross Blood Bank Challenge and has since recorded 53 donations to the cause.

CQUniversity Rockhampton staff had fun exploring some new technologies that are challenging traditional formats for education, communication and business, at a hands-on workshop conducted by ITD recently.
Sample iPads and iPhones were loaned to audience members so they could watch the presentation in the palm of their hands and get a feel for how students might be interacting in the classroom in the not-too-distant future.

Kristin Estoria had already completed high school in The Philippines when she enrolled at Mackay State High School as well as taking up a SUN (Start Uni Now) program with CQUniversity.
However, she believes the extra effort will be worth it when she enrols full-time in a Nursing degree next year.

Former UK resident Cheyenne Palmes is a girl in a hurry, so she's found the SUN program (Start Uni Now) is a good way to make progress towards her goal of becoming a novelist.
Currently completing Year 12 at Rockhampton High School, she recently received a certificate for achieving a High Distinction for her Term One literature course, through SUN at CQUniversity.

Des Pearson, the longest-serving of Australia's current Auditor-Generals, accepted the degree of Honorary Doctor of Business in Melbourne this week.
Mr Pearson is the Auditor-General of Victoria and previously served as Western Australia's Auditor-General.

Gladstone's Natalia Muszkat spends up to 5 hours each day in her voluntary capacity with the Women's Intercultural Network, on top of her time spent studying for an Occupational Health and Safety degree, helping as a student mentor, running her own photography business and looking after two young boys*.
Natalia acts as committee president and coordinator for the network, which helps migrant women integrate confidently into the community.
