Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Adult learning peak body visits, calls for 'reassessment'

The president of Australia's peak adult learning body, Professor Barry Golding has visited Rockhampton for a forum calling for a reassessment of adult education in Australia.

CQUniversity hosted the forum at its Ron Smyth Building in Quay Street.

    Palgrave Macmillan will be providing books to the value of $300 for each prize.

  • Relay really rolls with 114 teams

    The Relay for Life held at CQUniversity Rockhampton over the weekend (May 30-31) attracted 114 teams - or around 1500 participants - ensuring plenty of support for Cancer Council Queensland.

    Once again, Blackwater's Pink Ladies ($32,000) led the fundraising charge, but all teams did their bit as the total edged close to $200,000 (expected to be higher once all banking done).

  • Cap College entrance closed for 8 weeks of roadworks

    Construction of a turning lane from Yaamba Road (the Bruce Highway) into the Capricornia College at CQUniversity, to boost safety, will require the college entrance to be closed for 8 weeks, from May 27.

    Access to Capricornia College will still be available via the campus.
