- Gladstone STEPS students to graduate this Friday

Thirty-one STEPS students will graduate at a ceremony to be held at the Gladstone campus this Friday October 5.
Current Miss Australia, Kimberley Busteed will be guest speaker for the ceremony and will join the students and CQU staff in a celebration of the students' achievements.

Gladstone's Bachelor of Learning Management (BLM) students recently celebrated their academic achievements with lecturers, mentor teachers and local school principals at an event held in their honour.
The Gladstone Education Ball was organised to provide an opportunity for final-year BLM students to celebrate with those who have helped them throughout their degree.

This year's Mackay International Film festival at CQU Mackay is offering films with special guest speakers, poets, music and local and national short films, from Friday October 12 through to Sunday October 14.
Special guest, international concert pianist Mark Gasser will open the festival at a cocktail reception in the CQCM foyer on Friday October 12 and will share his experiences in working with international acclaimed film makers on composing film scores.

CQU engineering student Samuel Givney was awarded the annual Queensland Alumina Limited (QAL) Scholarship at an official function recently (Thursday 27/9/07).
QAL Managing Director Johann van Zyl said Samuel, a first-year student studying Bachelor of Engineering (Co-op) and Diploma of Professional Practice at the Gladstone campus, would receive $5000 per annum towards his studies.

CQU Mackay held a special evening to recognise and thank student mentors of 2007, on Thursday September 27 in the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music (CQCM) foyer.
'Mentors of the Year' awards were presented to Kylie Barron, Thor Bouttell and Jacinta Driscoll in recognition of their outstanding work.

Students and staff shared the traditional moon cakes and tea in the Student Lounge.
