- Writers' workshops to be held in rainforest surrounds

Central Queensland University's literary magazine Idiom 23 will host writers' workshops in the centre of the Byfield Rainforest, the hinterland of the Capricorn Coast, from September 7 to 9.
With first class tutors and some exciting exploration of the rainforest and Waterpark Creek (one of the most unique ecosystems in the world), writers attending the workshops should have plenty of inspiration.

After an intense and gruelling 3 days of competition, Accounting student Rabi Babu Karki defeated some very tough opponents to take first place and top prize in the CQU Sydney International Campus table tennis competition held this week.
The competition attracted a large cohort of students from diverse backgrounds and nationalities all eager to participate in the social and sporting event.

CQU researchers are among those featured on the program for the Railway Technology Showcase arranged by the Rail CRC on June 7-8 in Brisbane.
The Rail CRC (Cooperative Research Centre for Railway Engineering and Technologies) event will be held at the Novotel in Creek Street.

The CQU based International Program of Psycho-Social Health Research (IPP-SHR) has strengthened its international research ties in a recent visit to Beijing, China.
The visit was used to explore research links with paediatric oncologists at the Beijing Children's Hospital interested in psycho-social health issues.

CQU Performing Arts students are among a range of entertainers arranged to spice up the QREX street party, in Rockhampton's East St on Friday, May 25.
All students are also welcome free of charge at the QREX 'Resourcing for the Future' conference on Wednesday May 23 at the Pilbeam Theatre.

CQU and The Smith Family will collaborate to encourage more disadvantaged students to consider university, working together to support students in achieving their educational and life ambitions.The organisations have signed up for a collaborative partnership, initially over three years, to ensure disadvantaged students are fully aware of the options and support services available to them when making post school plans.
