Struggling university students got a helping hand from the Department of Main Roads this week when four computers were delivered to CQU Rockhampton for the University's Student Computer Loan Program.
On behalf of the Minister for Main Roads, Member for Rockhampton Hon Robert Schwarten presented four secondhand computers - two desktop and two laptops - to program organisers on Thursday, December 9.

CQU Plant Sciences graduate Dr Poonam Bhatia plans to accept the offer of a prestigious fellowship to work at the University of Tokyo.
The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Postdoctoral (JSPSP) Fellowship will allow her to study fundamental genetic processes which enable plants to cope with the stress of high-salt and low-water conditions.
- Creative writing program a hit in Gladstone

Gladstone’s budding writers have been meeting each Thursday morning at CQU Gladstone for a creative writing course, organised by CQU Foundation’s Fay Owens.
Local resident, Noel Wooton, a retired journalist and businessman, facilitated the course which aimed to help people discover their creative writing skills.

Central Queensland University’s Regional Centre of the Arts (RCotA) has funded new CD, DVD and writers workshop projects in 2005.
CQU academic Dr Philip Robertson will use his RCotA funding to retrace the steps of the documentary film maker who produced the 1966 film ‘Cape York Adventure’.
