Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Adult learning peak body visits, calls for 'reassessment'

The president of Australia's peak adult learning body, Professor Barry Golding has visited Rockhampton for a forum calling for a reassessment of adult education in Australia.

CQUniversity hosted the forum at its Ron Smyth Building in Quay Street.

    Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic & Research) Ron Davies has announced details of the Central Queensland University Staff Development by Research program.

    Any continuing CQU academic staff member who is admitted to candidature in a research higher degree at Central Queensland University, commencing before 31 March 2003, will be guaranteed a funded Research Training Scheme Place.

  • CQU expands into China

    Central Queensland University (CQU) signed a contract this week to deliver education programs on the ground in China, expanding its operations to a total of 14 campuses and learning centres.

    CQU’s collaboration with the Hartford Group at Sichuan Normal University extends in Asia, adding to its education delivery agreements in Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia.

    Thirteen Central Queensland University Bachelor of Learning Management students were given the opportunity of a lifetime when they were chosen to spend four weeks teaching English in Korea.

    The CQU Bundaberg, Gladstone, Mackay and Rockhampton students flew out just days after Christmas and have recently returned saying it was a priceless opportunity which they would recommend to other students.

    QingQing Yang, a student from the Shanghai Maritime University, won the coveted prize over 600 students studying at universities throughout Shanghai.
