CQU Sydney International Campus lecturer John Raciti has been elected a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts, FRSA, in London, at the age of 29.
The RSA is an honorable society that has been in existence for over 250 years.

CQU is helping Singapore ramp up its workforce to support the goal of a $20 billion per annum biomedical science/pharmaceutical science research and manufacturing industry.
The University has helped filled a niche by providing biomedical science degree 'top-ups' for Singaporeans who have polytechnic diplomas in biomedical science, biotechnology, medical laboratory science and chemistry.

Rockhampton students and staff are encouraged to wear 'whacky whites' and attend a lawn bowls evening to raise funds for the Queensland Cancer Fund.
A campus-based Relay for Life team called 'Boogie For Life' has organised the fun event, from 4pm on Saturday, April 22, at the North Rockhampton Bowls Club.

Former Springsure resident Graham Daniels is the recipient of the 2005 QCWA Central Highlands Division bursary, valued at $500.
Mr Daniels is studying the Bachelor of Engineering (Co-op)/Diploma of Professional Practice (Engineering).

University graduates have embraced the ability to fast-track a teaching qualification via a one-year postgraduate degree, after a change in requirements from the Queensland College of Teachers.
Previously, graduates were required to study for two years to convert their degree into a teaching accreditation.

The expanding reliance upon e-mail, and problems encountered with up to 30% of e-mails to students being ‘undeliverable’ due to incorrect or disabled addresses, has highlighted the need for a reliable communication channel with students.

Staff and students from Central Queensland University (CQU) Mackay have rallied together to offer support to their fellow North Queenslanders battered by the storm that was Cyclone Larry earlier this week.
A donation box has been set up in the CQU administration building and staff, students and members of the public who would like to show their support are invited to donate money, non-perishable food items or toiletries.

Accomplished freelance director and acting lecturer, Mr Peter Ross, is again working with the current crop of Bachelor of Music Theatre students at the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music (CQCM) in Mackay.
Before he gives the students his full attention however, he has one prior commitment to fulfil; and it’s nothing less than the Closing Ceremony of the Melbourne Commonwealth Games this Sunday March 26.

Commencing at 3pm, in the CQCM Theatre, this popular student concert series has become a welcome feature of the annual events program and offers great music and entertainment within a relaxed, comfortable setting.

Heather Nancarrow, Director of the Queensland Centre for Domestic and Family Violence Research was delighted this week to receive a cheque from students of Mackay State High School (MSHS), raised during a school celebration of International Women’s Day last week.
Funds raised by the students will be used towards the development of an educational fact sheet about ‘Dating Violence’ by the Centre for Domestic and Family Violence Research at CQU.
