Central Queensland University has welcomed news that Nambour District schools have chosen its Noosa Teacher Education Campus (NoosaTEC) as district winner for Education Queensland's Showcasing Excellence Awards.
The State finals will be held in August.

On 6 June, first year students from Central Queensland University studying a Bachelor of Learning Management are organising a Health and Fitness Expo, for grades one, two and three at Bundaberg North State Primary School.
There will be a total of 220 students and 54 student teachers involved on the day.

Central Queensland coaches can gain nationally-recognised Level 1 accreditation for up to five sports in only one week.
A menu of 11 sports will be on offer for the Coaching Accreditation Week, to be held at Central Queensland University from July 8-13.

University has stepped into the Rockhampton District Rugby Union (RDRU) season full of confidence after winning the RDRU Regional Championships last weekend.
The students beat the Colts 32-15 in a tough, hard final.
- Mackay Orchestra Beefed Up for Sweet Sounds

Mackay Youth Orchestra will be beefed up for a combined concert with Rockhampton Youth Orchestra, the first of its type in the sugar city, from 2pm on Sunday (May 26) at the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music Theatre.
Conservatorium lecturer Dimitri Kopanakis, who is conductor and musical director for both groups, said the beef and sugar city musicians would also combine for workshops on May 24-26.

Everyone is welcome to attend a drama showcase entitled ‘A Lighthouse Cafi’, from 7pm on Friday (May 24) at CQU Rockhampton Campus’ Helene Jones Room.
For gold coin entry, audience members can experience excerpts of plays ranging from Shakespeare through to contemporary Australian writers.
