- Engineering farewells Co-Op stalwart

Last Thursday, members of the James Goldston Faculty of Engineering and Physical Systems attended a farewell for Rod Edwards, former Director of the Bachelor of Engineering Co-op program.
Mr Edwards is currently enjoying his retirement with plans to spend time with his wife travelling to different parts of Australia, playing golf and following their other interests.

Three of our students from the James Goldston Faculty of Engineering and Physical Systems have been awarded a bursary by the Queensland Electricity Transmission and Distribution group.
The bursaries recognise their scholastic achievements and their commitment to complete their studies concentrating on the energy sector.

Stephen Pitt has won the prize with his written contribution on the topic 'Doug'.

Sydney Campus Director Award recipients Marie Slavikova, Lik Shan Chun and Faycal Ben Abdellaziz have been congratulated by Campus Director Barbara Abou-Lehaf.
Marie Slavikova began her studies in the Graduate Diploma of Information Systems Management at CQU in 2003, articulating into the Master of Information Systems.

CQU Bundaberg information technology student Dion Thomas is overcoming his struggle with Asperger's syndrome (a form of autism characterised by impaired social functioning, repetitive behaviour and obsession).
Learning for Mr Thomas had been difficult throughout his life.

Professor Dudley Roach, CEO of the CQU-based Rail CRC, has won the Professional Manager category of the Management Excellence Awards, staged by the Rockhampton Region of the Australian Institute of Management.
The presentations were held at the Rockhampton Heritage Village on Friday, September 9.

Theatre restaurant is back in Rockhampton - this time in the shape of a cheeky, adult-themed show called 'Rob In The Hood - A Twisted Tale'.
The licenced event, including show and 3-course meal, will be held from 7pm on Friday and Saturday, October 7 and 8, at the CQU Rockhampton Drama Studio.

A CQU Engineering Technology graduate has been named Queensland’s Young Engineering Technologist of the Year.
After his 12-month traineeship with Fitzroy Shire Council as a civil engineering technician, Nathan Grob took up a cadetship with the Department of Main Roads.
