Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Adult learning peak body visits, calls for 'reassessment'

The president of Australia's peak adult learning body, Professor Barry Golding has visited Rockhampton for a forum calling for a reassessment of adult education in Australia.

CQUniversity hosted the forum at its Ron Smyth Building in Quay Street.

    On Thursday and Friday last week, over 1000 Mackay pre-school children came face-to-face with the captivating world of music in a modified version of the age-old fairy tale, Cinderella.

    The sell-out performances consisted of six shows that were held in the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music (CQCM) foyer and performed by CQCM Bachelor of Music students.

    CQU’s School of Health and Human Performance in conjunction with Queensland Ambulance Service are conducting Senior First Aid and CPR courses over the next few weeks.

    The courses will be held on April 29 and 30 and May 13 and 14 from 9am to 5pm.

    Commonwealth Bank General Manager (Queensland and NT) John Hoey, who is also the AIM Vice-Chairman, launched the awards at an AIM function in Rockhampton last month (March 30).
