Queensland Senator Barnaby Joyce and Nationals candidate for Flynn Glenn Churchill visited CQU Gladstone on Monday as part of Senator Joyce’s visit to the Gladstone region.
Mr Churchill, a former CQU Council member and graduate, invited Senator Joyce to visit the campus to get an understanding of the education and research facilities available in the region.

The recently-approved new Rail CRC has kicked off its new life with core participants (including CQU) meeting to shape the future of 7 years of cutting-edge research.
At the meeting, held in Canberra earlier this month, the core participants appointed current Rail CRC CEO Professor Dudley Roach as interim CEO, who has appointed an interim management team.

Australia’s first university program specifically for power generation professionals was launched this week in Brisbane by Mines and Energy Minister Geoff Wilson.
The Power Generation Skills Development program was forged between the 3 Government-owned generators and 3 leading Queensland universities.

Students have started gathering at Central Queensland University (CQU) Mackay this week before the official Orientation program commences to get ahead and brush up on maths and science knowledge through a variety of bridging programs on offer.
After working in a role as a Safety Officer at Cardwell Shire Council, Lisa Roelofs got her Occupational Health and Safety Officers ticket and wanted to expand on that, leading her to apply for tertiary study.

Bronwyn Pearse was awarded $10,000 via the Australian Government Nurse Scholarship Program: Continuing Professional Education Scheme for Rural and Remote Nurses.
