- Campus bands hit out at Fair

Campus bands entered in a national competition will have the chance for extra exposure during the CQ Multicultural Fair and CQU Rockhampton Open Day, on Sunday August 14.
Visitors to the Fair and Open Day will have the chance to witness the best local rock talent performing orginal music.

Queensland Chief Scientist Emeritus Professor Peter Andrews AO visited CQU Rockhampton this week for a Research Round Table with staff.
Discussions included research priorities; challenges and issues for science, research and innovation, and an overview of CQU and its organisational success stories.
- Performance portfolio sent to AUQA

The CQU Performance Portfolio was submitted earlier this week to the panel of auditors from the Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA) who will audit CQU operations later this year.
The Performance Portfolio is a document which each University is required to submit to AUQA prior to their audit.

Rockhampton people have the chance to come face to face with a creature dubbed ‘the sexy wee beast’ when they visit the CQ Multicultural Fair and CQU Rockhampton Open Day on Sunday, August 14.
CQU researcher and lecturer, Dr Billy Sinclair has compiled a movie about the sea creature called the nautilus, best known for living in large and beautiful shells.

Ms Booth gave a presentation for staff and students during her visit, which coincided with the launch of Disability Action Week in Rockhampton.

Lam anh Vu started learning English from subtitles on Hollywood movies, and still has a slight American accent.
Nguyen (Yen) Minh Dieu spent time at an international (English-focused) school in Thailand as a child, and continued studying the language during her high school years in Vietnam.

- Cameroon student finally arrives in Rockhampton

After an 18-month application process to study at Central Queensland University in Rockhampton, 26-year-old Sylvia Forsung from Cameroon in Central Africa has arrived to study for her MBA degree.
After some confusion with her student visa, Sylvia passed her IELTS (English test required for student visas) with ‘flying colours’ and was soon on her way to Central Queensland with a CQU MBA scholarship under her wing.
