CQUniversity Rockhampton's Science Experience for Year 9 and 10 students focused on fun and hands-on activities this week (June 28-30).
Students had the chance to get up close to the action with horticultural projects and investigated some often overlooked animals in our ecosystems.

Around 30 members of The Probus Club of Rockhampton enjoyed their monthly outing at CQUniversity Rockhampton Campus.
The club, who celebrated their 25 year anniversary recently, started their tour at the Centre for Plant and Water Science, hosted by researchers Kylie Hopkins and Graham Fox.

CQUniversity's Gladstone Campus Bookshop is now open longer hours for the convenience of its staff and students.
Gladstone Campus Library manager Karin Simon said the Bookshop recently relocated into the University Library and is now able to open from 9am until 4.

CQUniversity Bachelor of Medical Science student Kelsie West has been awarded The Keith Harrower Memorial Book Prize for 2010.
Kelsie was presented with her book prize by academic prize donor Lynette Harrower and CQUniversity's donor scholarship and prize coordinator Tamsen Clifford-Banks.

A Mackay lecturer has been recognised nationally for his contribution to student learning this week.
Multimedia lecturer Dr Steven Pace has been awarded a 2011 Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning by the Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC).

CQUniversity's Environmental health lecturer Lisa Bricknell has been awarded a 2011 Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning by the Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC).

Art and science came together when 16 painters and photographers visited a research lab at the Centre for Environmental Management on CQUniversity Gladstone Campus recently (June 23).
The visit was part of a ‘magical mystery tour' to encourage participation by local artists in the forthcoming Sea Dreams Festival.

Among those participating was Eleanor Duffin, a final-year Bachelor of Learning Management (Primary) student who had the chance to chat with Chris Cook, Principal HR Consultant for the Department of Education and Training.
