Thirteen CQUniversity Theatre students are travelling to Melbourne next week to compete at the SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) National Championships.

SIFE is an international organisation that promotes and supports student groups that engage in projects that benefit their communities.

With global warming and expected shortages in oil and other fossil-based fuels, attention has turned to wood, pulp fibres and grasses as sources of fuel.

These fuel sources have been identified as possible sources for industrial applications such as biorefineries for the production of bioethanol, polymers and glues.

Alumni drawn together at recent University-hosted events in Melbourne, Bundaberg and Gladstone have committed themselves to work with current CQUniversity students, to share their work and professional experiences and extend their networks to up-and-coming new graduates.

Scores of graduates from far back as 1994 met at Melbourne's Marriott, Bundaberg's Spinnaker Restaurant and the Rocks@It Restaurant and Bar in Gladstone in May to catch up with each other and CQUniversity staff.

CQUniversity Bundaberg is hosting a Nursing Career Expo on Wednesday June 30 from 10.30am to 12pm.

"Getting them writing, keeping them writing"  is the theme for a writers' workshop especially for teachers, hosted by CQUniversity and Idiom23 Magazine, from July 30 - August 1, this year.

The workshop is intended to build on professional development for teachers in creative writing and will be held at North Keppel Island Environmental Educational Centre, following a very successful workshop in "Memoir", held in May.
