Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Adult learning peak body visits, calls for 'reassessment'

The president of Australia's peak adult learning body, Professor Barry Golding has visited Rockhampton for a forum calling for a reassessment of adult education in Australia.

CQUniversity hosted the forum at its Ron Smyth Building in Quay Street.

    Paul Bell has won the Printing Industries Craftsmanship Award (PICA) Judges Gold Award for his print titled “Brisbane 2003” naming him the Queensland PICA champion.

    The launch speaker was one of the most eminent judges in Australia, Justice Roddy Meagher of the Appeals Court.

    Central Queensland University’s Jennifer Cooper has been identified in the top 11 Queensland accounting students from the applicants that applied for the CA Achiever program for 2003.

    The CA Achiever program, offered by the Institute for Chartered Accountants, recognises the top 11 first-year Queensland accounting students each year, rewarding them with four weeks' paid work experience with an accounting firm.
