Over 25 new ‘bump hats’ have been issued to Central Queensland University Mackay staff in recent weeks.
Facilities Management staff member Steve Oberg said the new hats were part of on-going upgrades to emergency procedures.

Over 80 Central Queensland University students will be awarded prizes and accept admission into the Golden Key International Honour Society this Friday evening.
The combined annual Awards and Golden Key ceremony will recognise the outstanding efforts of students and those achieving within the top of 15% of undergraduate programs.

Nursing student Belle Marriage has become the first Central Queensland University Mackay student to be awarded a scholarship that allows her to undertake a clinical placement in Sweden from October.
The School of Nursing and Health Studies & Midswedan University Nurse Exchange Program scholarship was open to third-year Bachelor of Health students across CQU campuses.

Central Queensland sports trainers will have the rare opportunity to undertake the Level II Sports Trainer course as part of the first Central Queensland Sports Medicine & Sports Science Conference in Rockhampton this year.
The conference will be held at Central Queensland University Rockhampton on Saturday and Sunday, July 12 And 13, with the Level II Sports Trainer course beginning on Friday July 11.

'Sailing the Southeast Wind' is a new CD of Torres Strait Islander maritime music. Dr Karl Neuenfeldt from CQU's Faculty of Informatics and Communication co-produced the CD in collaboration with North Queensland Indigenous communities.

Students coming to Australia from the United States will be offered thousands of dollars in scholarships to work on conservation projects in some of Australia's most fragile environments under a new scheme launched during June in New York City by Queensland Premier Peter Beattie and AustraLearn, a non-profit organisation that facilitates study-abroad programs for universities in Australia and New Zealand.
"This is a great example of the win-win outcomes which are flowing from the international education industry," explained the Premier.

Internationally renowned jazz/blues vocalist Grace Knight will embark on her first tour that relies on rail transport when she performs with Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music members from June 29. Over 20 student, staff and community members will join the 4th annual Jazz Tour that begins in Noosa.

Central Queensland University has signed an agreement with Jinju University, a respected South Korean government institution.
The agreement encourages the expansion of cooperation which has begun with CQU Language Centre (Rockhampton Campus) hosting 23 Jinju students who are learning English.

The culmination of four and a half years of hard work will be celebrated at tomorrow’s (Friday June 27) Graduating Engineers Conference, GECON 2003, at Central Queensland University Rockhampton.
GECON 2003 will be held at CQU Rockhampton, building 5, on Friday June 27 from 8am to 5pm.
