Doctors and trainers who run on to the field to treat injuries should be fit and aware of the rules regarding interaction with players, according to sports medicine leader Erik Hohmann.
Mr Hohmann, an orthopaedic surgeon and Associate Professor at CQU, said the weekend's footage of an AFL match showing a clash between a doctor and a player had brought these issues into the spotlight.

Head of Nursing and Health Studies Dr Lorna Moxham has received confirmation she will be included in the next edition (the 5th) of Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
The Marquis publication aims to 'recognise today's leaders in the teaching, practice, planning, financing and delivery of healthcare'.

New teaching graduate Leesa Vacher is not sweating on an early transfer from tiny Croydon State School on the Gulf Development Road, south-west of Cairns.
That is despite the fact many of her graduating classmates ended up at schools on the Sunshine Coast, and despite the fact her fianci and family are also in that region.

Up to 500 overseas, interstate and inter-city visitors will flock to Rockhampton and Yeppoon in the six weeks from mid June to late July for a series of major academic and research events arranged by Central Queensland University.
Around 150 visitors including some from overseas will be among participants for the 3rd International Lifelong Learning Conference at Rydges Capricorn Resort from June 13-16.

Emerald-based Associate Professor John Rolfe has undertaken an economic survey to estimate that recreational fishing at Fairbairn Dam contributed more than $5 million a year to the local community.
He found that South Burnett region's Bjelke-Petersen Dam contributed $3.

Professor Paul Hyland and Dr Lee Di Milia from the Faculty of Business and Law have been engaged to study potential business benefits of a fisherman's wharf development on the Fitzroy River.
The Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries has commissioned the research.
