Norwegian study agent Lill-Tine Paulsen chose the first day of winter to visit CQU Rockhampton but received a warm welcome.
Rockhampton's perfect winter weather was a good conversation starter as CQU International staff helped Ms Paulsen with her familiarisation visit to the campus.

A Central Queensland University student is reaping the benefits of a life on the water while studying for a career in public relations.
Colleen Burns and her family has spent most of their time cruising along Queensland’s coast and berthing at various points like the Gold Coast, Gladstone, Rockhampton and The Whitsundays.

Just one term into her teaching degree, CQU student Lauren Nelson is taking one assignment at a time and is successfully heading towards her goal to teach at her old stomping ground in Blackwater.
Lauren’s desire to work at her former secondary school, Blackwater State High School, won her a $20,000 scholarship, the Bid O’Sullivan Scholarship, earlier this year.

Central Queensland University hosted Rockhampton’s Library and Information Week events last Thursday.
About 20 people attended the professional development workshop where Dr Gillian Hallam, President-Elect of the Australian Library Information Association, provided a professional development overview, and UQ Ipswich Library Manager Sue Hutley presented the new models of service delivery at UQ Ipswich.

The British Consul-General Ms Helen Horn visited the Centre for Railway Engineering (CRE) based at CQU Rockhampton last week.
Ms Horn met Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Jim Mienczakowski and CRE staff before touring the Centre and Hi-Lab.

University of the 3rd Age (U3A) members attended a plant propagation workshop conducted by CQU Rockhampton staff Dr Nanjappa Ashwath and Noel Sawtell.
Participants were shown the techniques of propagating plants via cutting, budding, grafting, layering and tissue culture.

An artwork by CQU Sydney multimedia lecturer Andrew Mamo has been selected for inclusion in an upcoming exhibition at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
The exhibition, entitled 'Thirty Something', is a 30-year retrospective of the Kala Art Institute, an influential art establishment specialising in print media and situated in Berkeley, California.

Rockhampton audiences will get a chance to experience a production featuring unconventional staging techniques on Friday, May 27 (from 7pm at the CQU Rockhampton Helene Jones Room, building 5).
CQU lecturer Rickie Fisher said students will apply skills and processes in a performance consisting of scenes, songs and scenic events on the theme of the city and life in it.
